These are top 10 best-selling NEV models in China in June

The Wuling Hongguang Mini EV remained the best-selling new energy vehicle (NEV) model in China with 29,143 units sold in June, up 12.56 percent from May, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.

The Tesla Model 3 came in second on the list with 16,515 units sold in June. That's up 79.4 percent from May and up 10.4 percent year-over-year.

Tesla Model Y sales reached 11,623 units in June, ranking third on the list, and cumulative sales for the year have reached 46,180 units.

The BYD Qin PLUS DM-i sold 9,269 units in June, up 67.25 percent from May, and ranked fourth.

Li Auto's only model, the Li ONE, sold 7,713 units in June, ranking fifth. This was up 78.42 percent from May and up 320.56 percent year-over-year.

The Ora Black Cat ranked sixth with 6,508 units sold in June, up 183.95 percent from May and 150.21 percent year-over-year.

Changan Automobile's Pentium EV ranked seventh with 6,358 units sold in June, down 24.05 percent from May and up 608.81 percent year-over-year.

Chery eQ ranked eighth with 6,317 units sold in June, up 12.16 percent from May and up 140.01 percent year-over-year.

The BYD Han EV ranked ninth with 5,815 units sold in June, up 0.9 percent from May.

BYD Song DM ranked tenth with 5,450 units sold in June, up 81.12 percent from May.

China's new energy vehicle sales in June were 256,000 units, up 17.7 percent from May and up 1.4 times year-over-year, setting a new record, the data showed.

China's NEV penetration rate increased from 5.4 percent earlier this year to 9.4 percent in the first half of this year, with June's penetration rate exceeding 12 percent.

Nio and Xpeng Motors did not have a model in the top 10, but their overall sales performance in June was strong.

Nio delivered 8,083 units in June, up 116.1 percent year-over-year and up 20.4 percent from May, a record high.

Nio ES8 delivered 1,498 units, ES6 delivered 3,755 units and EC6 delivered 2,830 units.

Xpeng delivered 6,565 units in June, up 617 percent year-over-year and 15 percent from May. Xpeng P7 delivered 4,730 units in June, up 25 percent from May.
