Xpeng starts deliveries of P7i sedan in Europe
Xpeng launched the G9 and P7i to the European market in February and opened customer orders in Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands and Sweden at that time.
Xpeng announced plans at the time that deliveries of the new P7 in Europe would begin in June, with deliveries of the G9 expected to begin in September.
Today's development means that deliveries of the P7i in Europe have been slightly delayed from the original plan.
Deliveries of the new P7 and G9 will take advantage of new delivery and service centers that Xpeng has opened in key markets: at Lørenskog in Norway, Badhoevedorp in the Netherlands, Stäket, Järfälla in Sweden and Hillerød in Denmark, it said in February said.
Xpeng said at the time that it would also open more authorized service points with dedicated partners in key European countries by the end of 2023.
The launch of the new P7 and G9 in Europe marks the resumption of Xpeng's suspended international expansion efforts. Xpeng is ramping up that effort as deliveries improve following the launch of the G6.
On July 10, Xpeng announced that it had entered into a strategic partnership with one of Israel's largest auto dealer groups, Freesbe, previously known as Carasso Motors, which will develop Xpeng's sales and service network in the Middle Eastern country.
Earlier this month, in an interview with CGTN, He Xiaopeng, Xpeng's chairman and CEO, said the company expects to enter dozens of countries, mostly developed ones, next year.
