The Luxeed S7, the first model under the Luxeed brand, is expected to debut this quarter.

A Huawei executive previewed the first model under the new Luxeed brand last week, and now a regulatory filing has revealed key spec information about the model.

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) yesterday released its latest catalog of models that will be allowed to be sold in China for public comment, and the Luxeed S7 sedan is included.

The public can submit their feedback between August 15 and August 21. Entry into the catalog is the last major regulatory process before a model can be allowed to be sold in China.

There are three versions of the Luxeed S7 entering the catalog, all battery electric, and the manufacturer is Chery.

On August 7, Richard Yu, Huawei's managing director and CEO of the smart car solutions business unit, said on Weibo that the first all-electric coupe from the company's Zhixuan automotive business will be the first to come with the HarmonyOS 4 operating system.

An image Yu shared at the time showed the model with "LUXEED" emblazoned across the front, suggesting that it would be under the new Luxeed brand.

Yu didn't mention which automaker Huawei is working with on the new brand, but the latest regulatory filings confirm that Luxeed belongs to Chery.

The Luxeed S7 measures 4,971 mm in length, 1,963 mm in width and 1,474 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,950 mm.

The model will be available in single-motor and dual-motor versions, both with Huawei as the motor supplier, and supports a top speed of 210 km/h.

Its single-motor model comes with an electric motor with a maximum power of 215 kW, while the dual-motor version has an additional motor with a maximum power of 150 kW.

The battery supplier for the Luxeed S7 is CATL, and the cells include lithium iron phosphate as well as lithium ternary ion and lithium iron manganese phosphate.

Yu said last week that the model will be announced this quarter.

As an entirely new category for Zhixuan's business, the coupe will feature a disruptive design language that delivers an out-of-the-box coupe experience, he said at the time.
