BYD (OTCMKTS: BYDDY) is starting to warm up the new Song L model, which debuted as a concept at the Shanghai auto show in April.

Compared to traditional SUVs, the Song L has a lower body with a coupe-like styling, these images show.
The Song L concept was unveiled on the first day of the Shanghai auto show on April 18, and BYD said at the time that the model combines BYD's pioneering technology and is aimed at young users who are looking for a stylish and sporty car.
The car's styling breaks with tradition and is the aesthetic of a new generation of Dynasty product array, it said at the time.
The Song L is based on BYD's e-Platform 3.0 and will have CTB (cell to body) technology, intelligent electric four-wheel drive, according to information previously announced by BYD.
The model will be the latest addition to the Song family of BYD's Dynasty lineup, which is expected to boost sales of the family's models.
The BYD brand's models include the Dynasty and Ocean series, and the Song family models include the Song Pro DM-i and Song Max DM-i from the Dynasty series, and the Song Plus EV and Song Plus DM-i from the Ocean series.
BYD sold a record 262,161 new energy vehicles (NEVs) in July, including 261,105 passenger cars, and 1,056 commercial vehicles.
Its Dynasty range of Song models sold 18,800 units in July, up 14.26 percent from 16,453 in June.
Its Ocean range of Song models sold 32,458 units in July, up 25.15 percent from 25,935 in June.
