Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen plans to sell 476,000 vehicles in 2018
Shanghai (ZXZC)- Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile (DPCA), a joint venture between Dongfeng Motor Group and PSA, aims to hand over 476,000 vehicles this year, which is part of its plan to be back to track in 2020, the automaker announced at its 2018 business conference.
It is reported that 2018 will be the very beginning for DPCA’s return to track by 2020 and will lay solid foundation for its development. In terms of vehicle plan, Dongfeng Peugeot will release 2 sedans, Peugeot 308 and Peugeot 408, and 3 SUV models, including Peugeot 2008. Dongfeng Citroen will starts with the internet-connected vehicle C3 Aircross.
After DPCA’s annual sales peaked in 2015 with a total delivery of 704,800 vehicles, it has undergone continuous sales decrease for the next two years. Last year, it barely achieved its target, which has been lowered to 402,000 units from the original 700,000 units.
The automaker attributed the sales sharp drop to several reasons, such as its mismatching system establishment ability, its tardy response to market changes and unsmooth system operation. The automaker said it will be down to the earth and implement its recovery strategy step by step.
