Nio reaches new milestone of 25 million battery swap services

Nio (NYSE: NIO) today saw its cumulative number of battery swap services provided exceed 25 million, as it provided the service 5 million times in the last roughly 3 months.
As of this writing, Nio has provided the battery swap service 25,001,979 times. The company currently has 1,553 battery swap stations in China, of which 424 are located along highways.
Nio completed its first battery swap station in Shenzhen on May 20, 2018. Car owners were skeptical in the early days of the service, but it has gained wide acceptance as the owners have experienced the convenience it offers over the past few years.
It took 29 months for Nio to see the battery swap service it offers reach its first one million milestone, and on July 4, 2022, the service reached the 10 million milestone, four years after it first became available.
On April 3 of this year, Nio reached a cumulative total of 20 million battery swaps, just nine months, or 273 days, from the 10 millionth milestone.
The 25 million milestone means that Nio has provided an additional 5 million battery swap services in the last 102 days, meaning an average of about 50,000 services per day.
On July 9, 2021, Nio announced at the inaugural Nio Power Day event that by the end of 2025, it will have more than 4,000 battery swap stations around the world, 1,000 of which will be in overseas markets.
The company aims to add 1,000 battery swap stations in China this year, taking the facility to 2,300 by the end of 2023.
In Europe, Nio has 19 battery swap stations as of today.
In addition to the signature battery swap stations, as of today Nio has 1,501 supercharging stations in China with 7,372 charging posts and 1,296 destination charging stations with 9,254 charging posts.
Nio previously included battery swap benefits, which were offered for free several times a month, in the prices of its vehicles. On June 12, the company stripped out the entitlement, thereby lowering the prices of all models by RMB 30,000 yuan ($4,200). Customers who want these benefits will have to pay 30,000 yuan for them.
