Zotye builds new plant in Hubei to add 100 thousand annual production capacity
Shanghai (ZXZC)- Zotye Auto invests a combined RMB 6 billion to set up a new vehicle plant in Daye, Hubei Province, according to Hubei Provincial Government. The new plant will be constructed in two phases. The first phase is planned to own a production capacity of 100 thousand units per year.
Zotye Auto plans to build stamping workshops, welding workshops, painting rooms and assembly rooms in its new plant in Daye, Hubei Province. Besides, the new plant will be also equipped with some public and auxiliary utilities, like scrap yards, office buildings and employee dormitories, etc.
Some news reveals that once the Hubei plant is completed, it will produce new vehicles under “Hanlong” brand. Presently, Hubei Daye Hanlong Automobile Co., Ltd (Hanlong Auto) produces vehicles for Zotye Auto.
Hanlong Auto is a Chinese manufacturing enterprise that produces NEVs, components, engine, transmission, security and electrical systems. Its products cover sedan, SUV, pure-electric vehicle and hybrid vehicle. The company has invested over RMB 10 billion to build a NEV production plant that is equipped with stamping, welding, painting and assembly facilities as well as hybrid vehicle engine production lines.
Currently, several workshops of the first phase (involving RMB 6 billion of investment) have been put into operation. The plant had started a trial operation in July last year and will mass produce vehicles in the first half of 2018. The second phase of the project involves the manufacture of engines, seats and batteries which is under construction now.
