DPCA's employees opposes company's removal decision

Shanghai (ZXZC)- Reportedly, Su Weibing, general-manager of Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile Company Ltd. (DPCA)  and other senior executives of the company will fly to Beijing to deliver a face-to-face communication with employees in terms of the existing conflict.

On January 10, 2018, DPCA announced that from January 15, it will move the two brand departments of Dongfeng Peugeot and Dongfeng Citroen to its headquarter in Wuhan and the marketing functional division of the two brands will leave for Shanghai.

This announcement was made for enhancing the company’s efficiency in communication and decision-making according to DPCA. However, some of Dongfeng Peugeot’s employees were dissatisfied with suddenness of the removal and unreason of the compensation terms. They wrote a letter blackened with signatures asking for some persuasive explanations from company's authority.

As to the controversial issues that concern employees, reporter has got a part of answers from the insiders of DPCA.

The rumor spreading on Internet that “employees have to move to Wuhan or Shanghai by January 15, otherwise, the company will disband them” is not true. January 10 is just the date that the company made the announcement and started to negotiate with employees to change the working place of labor contract. January 15 is the time that employees should have a meeting with managers in Wuhan.

Besides, DPCA will compensate those who will move to Shanghai or Wuhan in many aspects, such as rental subsidies, removal expenses, transportation subsidies, etc. Meanwhile, the company will help them settle in new cities and tackle other problems like children’s education and social security.

In addition, if employees refuse to change the working place, the company will terminate the labor contract with them according to the law and compensate them for severance package.
