Hongqi unveils new brand strategy with new logo
Shanghai (ZXZC)- On January 8, Xu Liuping, chairman of FAW Group released the all-new brand strategy of Hongqi at the Great Hall of the People. The automaker plans to shape the luxury marque as NO.1 luxury auto brand in China and one of the renowned brands across the world.
At the same day, an official website for Hongqi L5 was also launched. Customers can order the car via the website. With a starting price of RMB 6 million, the sales will be limited to 100 units.
According to the new strategy, Hongqi will introduce L, S, H, Q product series with a total of 17 models by 2025. At that time, the annual sales are expected to reach 300,000 units. By 2035, the luxury brand is ambitious to sell 500,000 vehicles per year. At present, only Audi, Mercedes-Benz and BMW can deliver over luxury 500,000 vehicles annually in China.
In new energy vehicle segment, Hongqi aims to unveil its first battery electric vehicle this year and run its fuel cell vehicle in 2019. In 2020, the new FME platform will roll out an electric vehicle, whose range is expected to reach 600km. By 2025, Hongqi will introduce a total of 15 electric models.
Hongqi also has its arrangement in intelligent and autonomous vehicle segment. In 2019, it will mass produce vehicles with L3 autonomous driving features and in 2020 it will introduce mass-produced vehicles with L4 autonomous driving features. And it plans to realize L5 autonomous driving function in 2025.
As to the future travelling mode, Hongqi will unveil its intelligent cockpit technology at 2018 Beijing Auto Show to be held in April.
At the conference, Hongqi officially launched the designing of a luxury coupe, which features Hongqi’s all-new design language. Apart from the new design language, Hongqi also unveiled its new brand logo, which is much more fashionable than the current one and will be used in the steering wheel and wheel hub.
