GAC FCA posts sales of more than 220,000 units in 2017
Shanghai (ZXZC)- Thanks to the robust market performance from the all-new Jeep Renegade and the Jeep Compass, Jeep brand sees its sales increase for 24 consecutive months since December, 2015, and it still keeps on growing. According to GAC FCA, it delivered 222,332 vehicles in 2017. Among them, sales of locally produced Jeep models surged 57% compared with the previous year to more than 200,000 units.
With SUVs growing increasingly popular in China, GAC FCA stated that it will introduce a range of local-produced and imported models in the Chinese market in 2018, including a seven-seat SUV, the Jeep Yuntu and the all-new Jeep Wrangler, which are tailored for the Chinese market.
The official photos of the all-new Jeep Wrangler had been released previously. It features Jeep's iconic seven-pole intake grille with chrome trims, looking more exquisite. With round LED headlights in both sides, mated with inside daytime running lamps, the model boasts a high recognition. The all-new Wrangler adopts a more aggressive rear bumper in its rear end. It features rectangle-designed LED taillights, which are shiny and attractive. Besides, the new model offers a variety of optional roofs, such as single roof, double roofs and glass roof, etc.
The all-new Wrangler will come fitted with 2.0T, 3.6L and 3.0T diesel engines. Among them, the 2.0T model is powered by the FIAT's all-new 2.0T engine, which can deliver a maximum power output of 197Kw and a peak torque of 400Nm. The 2.0T and 3.0T models will be equipped with 8-speed automatic transmissions, while the 3.6L model will come with 8-speed or 6-speed manual transmission. By 2020, the plug-in hybrid Wrangler will also hit the market.
