FAW-VW’s annual output sets new record high to1.98 million vehicles
Shanghai (ZXZC)- FAW-Volkswagen's 1.98 millionth vehicle, a model of Audi A4L rolled off the production line in Changchun, capital of northeast China's Jilin Province, on Dec. 28. Liu Yigong, Chairman and General Manager of FAW-Volkswagen made his presence and delivered an inspiring speech at the ceremony. He attributed the achievement to all the staff of FAW-VW, suppliers and dealers.
According to the data from FAW-Volkswagen, it delivered 197,237 vehicles (including imported Audi models), up 10.9% year on year. In detail, sales under Volkswagen brand reached 141,229 units, increasing 12.7% year on year. By the end of November, it completed 89.2% of its annual sales target.
By the end of 2017, FAW-Volkswagen is expected to have an annual output of 1,987,777 vehicles. Specifically, Changchun base is expected to produce 1,027,933 units, which is the second time for the base to produce over 1,000,000 vehicles since 2013.
What's more, FAW-Volkswagen will release nearly 30 new models within next three years, including several pure electric and plug-in hybrid models. FAW-Volkswagen aims to have NEVs to take up 25% of the total sales by 2020. It is expected that its second phase of South China base, East China base and North China base will finish construction and go into operation in 2018, making FAW-Volkswagen's strategic bases better improved.
In the future, FAW-Volkswagen will roll out more SUVs and sedans. With the elaborate plan of product deployment and increasingly rich product lineup, FAW-Volkswagen will see further sales growth.
