China Nov EV battery installations: Total volume up 12.2% from Oct, CATL's share at 50.64%

BYD's power battery installation volume in November was 8.94 GWh, ranking second with a 26.09 percent share.

China's power battery installed base in November was 34.3 GWh, up 64.5 percent year-on-year and up 12.2 percent compared to October, according to data released today by the China Automotive Battery Innovation Alliance (CABIA).

The installed base of ternary batteries was 11.0 GWh, accounting for 32.2 percent of the total, up 19.5 percent year-on-year and up 2.0 percent from October.

Lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery installed volume was 23.1 GWh, accounting for 67.4 percent of the total installed volume, up 99.5 percent year-on-year and up 17.4 percent from October.

From January to November, the cumulative installed base of power batteries in China was 258.5 GWh, an increase of 101.5 percent year-on-year.

The cumulative installed base of ternary batteries was 99.0 GWh, accounting for 38.3 percent of the total installed base, up 56.5 percent year-on-year.

The installed base of LFP batteries in the same period was 159.1 GWh, accounting for 61.5 percent of the total installed base, an increase of 145.5 percent year-on-year.

CATL's power battery installed base in November was 17.35 GWh, continuing to rank as the largest power battery manufacturer in China with a 50.64 percent share.

BYD installed 8.94 GWh of power batteries in November, ranking second with a 26.09 percent share, while CALB and Gotion High-tech ranked third and fourth with 5.82 percent and 3.73 percent shares respectively.

In the ternary battery market, CATL installed 7.38 GWh in November, with a 66.85 percent share, while CALB and Sunwoda ranked second and third with 6.61 percent and 6.17 percent shares, respectively.

In the LFP battery market, CATL installed 9.97 GWh in November, with a 43.19 percent share. BYD ranked second with a 38.67 percent share, and CALB ranked third with a 5.48 percent share.
