Shanghai (ZXZC)- On December 27, Zhou Zhengyu, the director of Beijing Municipal Commission of Transport stated that Beijing will set testing areas for driverless vehicle tests in Yizhuang Daxing District and Beianhe area. Applicants are allowed to do driverless vehicle tests in given road and given time. Until 2020, driverless vehicle tests are expected to be achievable in Yanchong Highway stretching from Beijing City to Chongli District of Heibei Province.

Last week, Beijing Municipal Commission of Transport and other relevant organizations jointly enacted two guidance documents to stipulate policies and regulations about operating driverless vehicle tests. The documents listed the conditions of testing application, duties of regulatory agencies and responsibility cognizance in traffic accidents, etc. Therefore, Beijing became one of cities in China that officially released specifications of autonomous driving test.

Beijing has become a gathering place of talents and enterprises of driverless technologies. It also basically realized the industrial chain concentration of driverless vehicles in China.
