The wait times for Nio vehicles in China have been further reduced, especially for the flagship sedan ET7.

The expected delivery date for the Nio ET7 is about 2 weeks after consumers lock in their orders, down from the previous 3-5 weeks, according to the latest information from the Nio App monitored by CnEVPost.

The wait time for the Nio ES7 SUV has also been reduced to 4-6 weeks from the previous 7-9 weeks.

Nio currently sells six models in China, including three models based on the NT 1.0 platform -- the ES8, ES6 and EC6 -- and three models based on the NT 2.0 platform -- the ES7, ET7 and ET5.

The company's mobile app stopped displaying the wait time for the ES8 starting this week. The wait time for the ET5 had previously not been displayed. The wait times for the ES6 and EC6 are both currently around 2 weeks.

Shorter wait times mean that more consumers will be able to take advantage of China's purchase subsidies for new energy vehicles (NEVs) before they expire at the end of the year.

Nio updated its purchase subsidy plan earlier this month, and for consumers who purchase all Nio models except the ET5, they will be able to enjoy the same subsidy amount as in 2022, as long as they lock in the configuration before December 31

Because of the impact of the Covid outbreak in Hefei, Anhui province, where its plants are located, Nio delivered 10,059 vehicles in October, not a record high as its management had expected.

Bloomberg reported in a November 2 story that the Covid disruption caused Nio to lose production of 7,000 vehicles and deliveries of about 5,000 vehicles in October.

Going into November, Nio's production capacity appears to have fully recovered and continues to improve.

Previous data show that insurance registrations for Nio vehicles in the first three weeks of November were 2,852, 3,124, and 3,325, respectively.

It is worth noting that there is usually a difference between insurance registrations and deliveries, and for Nio deliveries are usually higher.

For most EV companies, deliveries usually have a pulse effect, with higher deliveries closer to the end of the month. Insurance registrations for the fourth week of November are expected to be known by next Tuesday.
