Nio reaches strategic partnership with hotel operator H World Group

Nio announced today that it has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Chinese hotel chain operator H World Group, after they have already cooperated in building some energy replenishment facilities.

Nio and H World Group will cooperate in the construction of charging and battery swap facilities to provide a more convenient charging experience for new energy vehicle users, according to an article posted on the Nio App.

The partnership covers the high-end hotel brands under the management of H World Group and its joint venture company Yongle Huazhu Hotel & Resort Group, according to the article.

To date, Nio and H World Group have partnered to build 14 charging stations, and the two will work together in greater depth in the future, the electric vehicle company said.

As of June 30, 2022, H World operated 8,176 hotels with 773,898 rooms in operation in 17 countries, according to information on the hotel operator's website.

The partnership is the latest announced by Nio involving the construction of complementary energy facilities, and the last was on August 16, when the company announced a strategic partnership with Henan Transport Investment Expressway Service Area Management Co Ltd.

To date, Nio has 1,185 battery swap stations in China, 320 of which are located along highways, according to data monitored by CnEVPost.

The company also has 2004 charging stations in China, offering 11,581 charging piles. Its charging map also has access to more than 590,000 third-party charging piles.
