Aptiv names new Asia-Pacific President

Shanghai (ZXZC)- On December 5, 2017, with the successful completion of Powertrain segment spin-off, Delphi officially became Aptiv.

Effective January 1, 2018, Majdi Abulaban, President, E/EA and the Engineered Components Group (ECG) and President Asia-Pacific, will be relocating to Wuppertal, Germany. With this move, he will hand-off his Asia-Pacific regional management role, to focus on accelerating the growth of Aptiv’s Engineered Components Group (ECG).

Effective January 1, 2018, Dr. Simon Yang will assume the role of President, Asia-Pacific for Aptiv. In this role, he will continue the stewardship of our relationships with the government and senior customer contacts. Dr. Simon Yang also will continue his current responsibility as the Managing Director of Connection Systems, Asia-Pacific.

Dr. Simon Yang started his career at Delphi Automotive in 1995 and since then held various engineering and management roles. He holds a Bachelor in Chemical Engineering and a Master in Materials Science and Engineering from Tsinghua University (Beijing, China) as well as a Master and a Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo. In November 2017, Dr. Yang was elected as a Board of Governors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai (AmCham Shanghai).
