Haval H6 November sales slump by 23 percent

Shanghai (ZXZC)- According to data released by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), China’s passenger vehicle (PV) sales in November reached 2.55 million units, up 0.2 percent from a year earlier. While the sales of sedan and MPV continued to decline, the sales of SUV realized a growth of 7.6 percent.

In November, the SUV sales in China totaled 1,108,182 units, jumping 7.6 percent year on year and accounting for 43.4 percent of the total PV sales volume. China self-owned brands have an outstanding performance by November SUV sales. Chinese brands delivered 696,130 SUVs last month, increasing 12.9 percent compared with the same period of last year. In SUV segment, Chinese brands take up 62.8 percent market shares.

Japanese brands showed a slower growth by November SUV sales, with a year-on-year growth of 12.6 percent while Germany brands achieved a growth of 27 percent in the segment. Although the SUV sales of American brands managed to increase in November, but the year-on-year change remained to be negative.

Last month, the compact SUV sales have 55.5 percent market shares with a sales volume of 614,960 units. The mid-large size SUV succeeded in maintaining high growth. The sales soared 354.1 percent to 39,023 units. The small-size SUV segment has an obvious growth at the end of the year, with the sales volume increasing 10.8 percent.

Among the top 10 SUV models by November sales, six are under Chinese brands. Even though Haval H6 still won the championship of this list, its November sales slumped by 23 percent, from 70,292 to 54,097. But another Haval model, Haval H2, entered the monthly list. With a sales volume of 30,884, Geely Boyue ranked third.
