BYD has previously brought the Atto 3 to several markets including Australia, Singapore, Japan and Costa Rica.

BYD originally unveiled the Yuan Plus, the first SUV on the company's all-electric platform e-platform 3.0 and its first model built for the global market, at the Guangzhou auto show last November.

On February 19, BYD started accepting reservations of the Yuan Plus in China. The model serves as BYD's first global passenger car for strategically targeting overseas markets, and was also open for pre-order in Australia under the name Atto 3.

BYD launched the Yuan Plus in China with a combined CLTC range of 430 km for the version with a 49.92 kWh battery pack and 510 km for the version with a 60.48 kWh battery pack.

BYD entered the Cambodian market in 2020 and opened its first passenger car sales center in Phnom Penh, introducing several NEV models.

"The launch of BYD Atto 3 enriches the product matrix of the NEV market. Boosted by its high-quality products and advanced technologies, BYD will promote a low-carbon lifestyle and make contributions to carbon neutrality in Cambodia," said Marco Mok, President of Huan Ya.

Cambodia, the first country in Southeast Asia to announce a carbon-neutral plan, issued a long-term strategy for carbon neutrality earlier this year.

BYD announced on July 9 the launch of the Yuan Plus in Singapore under the name Atto 3.

On July 21, BYD announced its official entry into the passenger car market in Japan with the unveiling of three battery electric vehicles, the BYD Seal, Dolphin and Atto 3.

On July 22, the Atto 3 was launched in San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica, but the naming did not use the Atto 3, but remained the same as the model in China - Yuan Plus EV.

At the end of last month, the Atto 3 received approval from the Australian Design Rules (ADR), paving the way for its official launch there.

On August 3, BYD announced on Twitter that the company had shipped 1,000 Atto 3 vehicles to Australia.
