CATL has supplied Yutong with a cumulative total of 19 GWh of power batteries used in nearly 150,000 new energy buses.
Chinese power battery giant CATL has extended its strategic partnership with Yutong Group, the parent company of bus maker Zhengzhou Yutong Bus Co Ltd, for another 10 years to work together in commercial vehicles as well as in overseas markets.

The two sides will cooperate in the field of commercial vehicles including buses, heavy trucks, light trucks, construction machinery and sanitation vehicles, and jointly promote the development of new materials and technologies, as well as jointly develop technical standards for commercial vehicle batteries, according to CATL.
The two sides will also focus on overseas markets in order to allow their vehicles and batteries to jointly increase their presence in the international market.
CATL began its first 10-year strategic partnership with Yutong in 2012 and has now become the latter's largest power battery supplier.
CATL has supplied a cumulative total of 19 GWh of power batteries to the latter for use in nearly 150,000 new energy buses, according to the company.
Up to now, Yutong's buses equipped with CATL batteries have been sold to more than 40 countries and regions, including Qatar, France, the UK and Spain.
In addition to buses, CATL also provides clean power for Yutong's sanitation trucks, mixers, tractors, dump trucks and other commercial vehicles, it said.
CATL's power battery installation in China in June was 13.4 GWh, ranking first with a 49.6 percent share, according to data released by the China Automotive Battery Innovation Alliance on July 11. July figures are not yet available.
In the first half of the year, the global electric vehicle battery installed base was 203.4 GWh, of which CATL contributed 70.9 GWh, according to a report released by South Korean market research firm SNE Research on August 2.
This gave CATL a 34.8 percent share of the global power battery market in the first half, up 6.2 percentage points from 28.6 percent in the same period last year.
