AITO's only current model, the Wenjie M5, saw 10,685 new orders in June, it said.

AITO delivered 7,021 units of the Wenjie M5 SUV - its only model currently on sale - in June, up 40.25 percent from 5,006 units in May, the electric vehicle (EV) brand, created jointly by Huawei and Chongqing Sokon's Seres unit, announced today.

Cumulative deliveries of the AITO Wenjie M5 have reached 18,317 units since deliveries began in March, according to data monitored by CnEVPost.

The AITO Wenjie M5 added 10,685 new orders with non-refundable deposits in June, it said, without giving further details.

AITO, a premium smart car brand launched by Seres on December 2 last year, said it will have Seres' capabilities in extended-range technology, as well as technology from partners including Huawei.

On December 23 last year, Huawei's smart car solutions business unit CEO Richard Yu unveiled the Wenjie M5, an SUV with extended-range technology similar to Li Auto's Li ONE.

The Wenjie M5 is equipped with the Huawei DriveONE drive system, including a 1.5T four-cylinder range extender and a combination of asynchronous AC motors and permanent magnet synchronous motors.

It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds for the 4WD flagship version and 4.8 seconds for the 4WD performance model.

AITO delivered the M5 to the first 100+ owners in Shanghai on March 5 this year, with 3,045 units of the model delivered in March, 3,245 units in April and 5,006 units in May.

An all-electric version of the Wenjie M5 will go on sale in September, Huawei's Yu said at an event in late May on the first day of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area auto show.

In addition to the Wenjie M5, AITO's second model, the Wenjie M7, will also be unveiled on July 4, according to the brand.

The Wenjie M7 will be a luxury large electric SUV, jointly designed by Seres and Huawei, AITO said in a poster released on June 24, without revealing any more information.
