In the first half of the year, Tesla added more than 200 Supercharger stations in the Chinese mainland, including 700 Superchargers.

On January 14, in providing new charging facilities data added last December, Tesla said the company had opened more than 1,000 supercharging stations in the Chinese mainland, offering more than 8,000 Superchargers.

Tesla also has more than 700 destination charging stations in the Chinese mainland, offering more than 1,800 chargers, it said on January 14.

The company's figures released today mean that in the first half of the year, Tesla added more than 200 Supercharger stations in the Chinese mainland, including 700 piles.

However, the number of destination charging stations and piles it has in the Chinese mainland has not been updated in the past six months.

Tesla is still continuing to move forward with charging facilities in China, albeit at a less aggressive pace. It put eight new Supercharger stations, including 30 V3 Superchargers, into operation in the Chinese mainland in May with the Covid challenge still in place.

In the Chinese mainland, Tesla remains one of the EV makers with the most complete charging facilities.

In addition to Tesla, Nio (NYSE: NIO, HKG: 9866, SGX: Nio) is one of the most aggressive among local EV makers in building charging facilities in China.

As of July 1, Nio had 997 battery swap stations and 892 supercharging stations in China, offering 4,875 charging piles, according to data monitored by CnEVPost.

Nio also has 774 destination charging stations offering 4,653 charging piles and access to over 520,000 third-party charging piles.
