BYD May sales breakdown: Han at 23,934 units, Dolphin at 6,430
BYD's Han DM series sold 11,250 units in May, while Han EV was 12,684 units.
BYD (OTCMKTS: BYDDY, HKG: 1211) today announced that it sold 114,943 vehicles in May, its third consecutive month of more than 100,000 units, bringing its cumulative sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) to more than 2 million units.
The company then released the breakdown data for each model on its Weibo, allowing us to see how the different product pipelines are performing.
BYD's flagship Han family of sedans sold 23,934 units in May, up 191.38 percent from 8,214 units a year ago and 78.33 percent from 13,421 units in April.
BYD's Tang SUV sold 8,449 units in May, with Tang EV sales up 269 percent year-on-year, the company said.
On June 1, BYD's 2022 Tang EV went on sale, offering three models with a subsidized price range of RMB 279,800-339,800 and a maximum range of 730 kilometers.
The BYD Song family sold 31,989 units in May, with Song DM sales up 779.4 percent year-on-year, BYD said, without disclosing specific figures.
The Qin family sedan sold 20,753 units in May, with sales of the Qin PLUS EV up 109.9 percent year-on-year.
The Yuan family sold 13,333 units in May, with Yuan Plus sales up 13.9 percent from April.
BYD Destroyer 05 sold 4,558 units in May, up 123.4 percent from April.
BYD's e-series models sold 3,900 units in May, up 156.7 percent from April.
