Shanghai (ZXZC)-Dongfeng Nissan has 14 locally-made models, including the Nissan Sylphy, Teana and Qashqai. Thanks to the newly-released models like the new Nissan X-Trail, new Nissan Qashqai and Nissan Kicks, Dongfeng Nissan sold 865,000 model units in China during the past ten months in 2017, up 9.8% year on year. Chen Hao, Vice President of Sales Department, Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company, said that they will introduce more than 15 models including over 11 all-new models into Chinese market over the next 5 years. He also added that Dongfeng Nissan will take on the top three JV carmakers by 2022.

According to Chen Hao, over the next five years, electrification is the top priority for Dongfeng Nissan, and the majority of the forthcoming 15 new models are NEVs. At the 15th China (Guangzhou) International Automobile Exhibition, Dongfeng Nissan launched i-Power Plan. In the future, Dongfeng Nissan will integrate Nissan's global technological advantages to introduce new energy technologies including EV and e-POWER into the Chinese market.

Dongfeng Nissan's new vehicle plan shows that it will launch a pure electric vehicle equipped with EV technology next year. The new model is likely to adopt the same powertrain as the new Nissan LEAF with an expected range of 400km. Moreover, the new Nissan LEAF launched at the Auto Guangzhou 2017 will be imported into the Chinese market next year.

On July 18, Dongfeng Nissan released its first small-size SUV, the Nissan Kicks, which boasts monthly sales of more than 10,000 units. At the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, Nissan revealed the upgraded Nissan Qashqai, which is expected to hit the Chinese market next year. In the future, Dongfeng Nissan will continue to enhance its position in SUV segment.

Currently, Dongfeng Nissan ranked fourth among the JV carmakers, after FAW-VW, SAIC-VW and SAIC-GM. With strong product lineup and new power technologies, Dongfeng Nissan is ambitious to take on the top three JV carmakers. It will also continue to complete its dealership network in fourth, fifth and sixth-tier cities and will have 100% dealership coverage by 2022.
