Nio (NYSE: NIO, HKG: 9866) launched a new route in Fujian province in east China, the first of the month, under its Power Up Plan, which aims to promote energy replenishment experiences in popular tourist destinations.

It is a seaside tourism route linking Zhangzhou, Xiamen, Quanzhou, Putian, Fuzhou, Fuqing, Ningde and Fuding, covering a large number of well-known tourist attractions in the region, according to information released today by Nio.

The route covers a total of about 556 kilometers with 20 replenishment facilities, including 10 battery swap stations, one supercharging station and nine destination charging stations.

During the Beijing auto show in late September 2020, Nio officially announced the Power Up Plan, which aims to deploy 20kW destination DC charging stations in popular travel, leisure and business destinations to form a nationwide destination charging network.

Under the plan, Nio's ultimate goal is to deploy more than 30,000 destination DC charging piles in China.

To achieve this goal, Nio will provide a total of RMB 100 million in construction and operation subsidies to all partners who are willing to share resources and waive service fees for Nio customers, averaging RMB 1,000 per charging post per year for three years.

On January 14, Nio announced the opening of a line under the Power Up Plan in the western part of Zhejiang province in east China, connecting the famous West Lake and Qiandao Lake. This was the first one under the plan this year.

On January 24, Nio opened another line in the northern part of Jiangxi province, the second one this year under the program.

In March, Nio opened two more lines under the Power Up Plan, the latest one being the fifth one this year.

Data monitored by CnEVPost shows that as of April 23, Nio has 908 battery swap stations and 757 supercharging stations offering 4,184 charging piles.

It also has 689 destination charging stations offering 3,914 charging stakes and access to more than 480,000 third-party charging piles.
