Li Auto will officially launch its new SUV L9 on April 16, the company said today, reiterating its price range of RMB 450,000 ($70,670) - RMB 500,000.

Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI, HKG: 2015) today announced more information about the L9's specifications as planned, saying it will be powered by a 44.5kWh battery pack that will enable a CLTC range of up to 1,315km, including 215km of battery range.

The company's own developed and manufactured range-extender has a thermal efficiency of 40.5 percent, with fuel mode CLTC energy consumption as low as 5.9L/100km, it said.

The Li Auto L9 features an intelligent four-wheel-drive system with a front-drive motor of up to 130kW and a rear-drive motor of up to 200kW.

The vehicle has a total power of 330kW and torque of 620Nm, with a 0-100km/h acceleration time of just 5.3 seconds, it said.

The Li Auto L9 will also feature the company's in-house-developed flagship chassis control system, which, along with the standard CDC continuously adjustable damping damper, automatically adjusts damping in milliseconds in response to road vibration feedback to enhance comfort, the company said.

The model's double-wishbone front suspension and five-link rear suspension provide flagship-level ride and comfort, it said.

The Li Auto L9's air springs automatically lower the body at high speeds to save energy and provide easier loading and unloading of luggage when parking.

The L9's front-mounted five-in-one powertrain includes a drive motor, generator, dual-motor controller and gearbox, while the rear-mounted three-in-one powertrain includes a rear-drive motor, motor controller and gearbox.

The higher level of integration results in better efficiency and further increases the L9's interior space utilization, according to Li Auto.

Its in-house developed central domain controller will use NXP's latest S32G chip, and Li Auto will do all the hardware, system, and software development, it said.

Li Auto's full in-house development of functions including the extend-range electric system, air conditioning system, chassis system and seat control system better ensures the scope and timeliness of the L9's future OTAs, it said.

Li Auto said it will continue to announce more information next Wednesday, after announcing the L9 on Wednesdays for two consecutive weeks.
