The Han DM-i and Han DM-p are officially available for pre-sale today, with a price range of RMB 216,800 - 322,800.

After several previous teasers, the two new variants of BYD's flagship sedan Han, Han DM-i and Han DM-p, are officially available for pre-sale today.

The BYD (OTCMKTS: BYDDY, HKG: 1211) Han family previously included two models, Han EV and Han DM, with the former being a pure electric model and the latter a plug-in hybrid.

On top of the Han DM, BYD has added two additional models, Han DM-i and Han DM-p, with the former focusing on fuel economy and the latter having strong performance as its main feature.

The Han DM-i is available in four versions, three of which have a pure electric range of 121 kilometers and one of 242 kilometers, with a pre-sale price range of RMB 216,800 (34,080) - 292,800 after subsidies, according to BYD's announcement today.

Only one version of the Han DM-p is available, with an electric-only range of 202 kilometers and a pre-sale price of RMB 322,800.

These models have the same dimensions, measuring 4,950*1,910*1,495 mm in length, width and height, with a wheelbase of 2,920 mm.

They are powered by a 1.5Ti engine with a maximum power of 102 kW and a peak torque of 231 Nm.

The Han DM-i is equipped with a front-mounted single motor with a maximum power of 145 kW and a peak torque of 316 Nm, and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds. The model has a fuel consumption of 4.2L per 100km on low charge and a combined range of 1,300km.

The Han DM-p uses dual motors with a maximum power of 160 kW and 200 kW, and peak torques of 325 Nm and 350 Nm, respectively. It has a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 3.7 seconds and a fuel consumption of 5.2L per 100 km when the battery is running low.

They are both equipped with DiLink 4.0 system, which supports 5G connectivity. Its DiPilot intelligent driving assistance system supports ACC and AEB among other functions.

The BYD Han went on sale in July 2020, when it offers the Han EV, an all-electric version with an NEDC range of 605 km, and the Han DM, a hybrid model with a range of only 81 km on pure electric power.

Han family sales reached 117,665 units for the full year 2021, according to BYD's previously announced data.

The Han family sold 9,290 units in February, up 84.8 percent from 5,028 units in the same month last year, but down 27.3 percent from 12,780 units in January.
