Xpeng joins three European automotive associations
The move marks Xpeng's long-term commitment to accelerating the electrification of Europe and adhering to a sustainable strategy, it said.
Xpeng Motors (NYSE: XPEV, HKG: 9868) has become a member of three major European automotive associations, the first Chinese brand to do so, the company announced today.
The three associations are the Association for Electromobility in Europe (AVERE), the Automobile Industry Association of the Netherlands (RAI Vereniging) and BIL Sweden.
The move marks Xpeng's long-term commitment to accelerating the electrification of Europe and adhering to a sustainable strategy, and is an important milestone in its commitment to deeper integration with the European automotive ecosystem, the company said.
Xpeng will bring additional insight and innovation to the smart electric vehicle sector, contributing to the development and implementation of the European Commission's sustainable and smart mobility strategy, it said.
Xpeng is pleased to leverage the power of industry associations to become an active participant in the transformation of mobility in Europe, said the company's vice president, He Liyang.

While growing rapidly in its home market, Xpeng, along with its local counterparts Nio (NYSE: NIO, HKG: 9866) and BYD (OTCMKTS: BYDDY, HKG: 1211), is also actively expanding into overseas markets.
On February 10, Xpeng announced retail partnership agreements in Sweden and the Netherlands and officially opened its first self-operated experience store in Sweden, the company's first in the international market.
On March 10, the company announced that it is allowing local consumers to pre-order the P5 sedan, the company's third and latest production car, in Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway and Sweden.
The company previously offered the G3 series SUV and P7 sedan in Norway, and this is the first time the P5 has joined the export ranks.
Xpeng also announced last week the opening of its first local experience store in the Netherlands, the second Xpeng-branded showroom in Europe.
