Nio and furniture retail giant and real estate conglomerate Red Star Macalline Group have built 51 charging and battery swap stations in China, as the partnership turns one year old.
The electric vehicle maker announced the figure today, saying it includes 35 battery swap stations and 16 supercharging stations covering 32 cities. The latest figure means that the plan is 85 percent of the way to its goal.
The information released by Nio on these stations shows that the latest battery swap station and supercharging station it is building with Red Star are both located in Urumqi, Xinjiang.
The completion of more than 50 stations is a small milestone in the partnership and a sign of both parties' commitment to accelerating green growth, Nio said today, adding that it will deepen its partnership with Red Star in the new year.
Red Star's offline stores cover almost all medium to large cities, making them ideal for battery swap stations and supercharging stations, Nio said.
Red Star's Shanghai Red Star Parking Management Co provides a one-stop service for the landing of these facilities, laying a solid foundation for future in-depth cooperation between the two companies, according to Nio.
According to data monitored by CnEVPost, as of January 31, Nio had a total of 836 battery swap stations and 668 supercharging stations in China.
Nio has not announced any new battery swap stations so far this month. January 31 to February 6 is the Chinese New Year holiday.
