Nio partners with IKEA, 800th swap station in China goes online
Update: Added a description of the time it takes for the number of battery swap stations from 700 to 800.
The launch of the station is just the first step in its partnership with IKEA, and more battery swap stations will appear in IKEA malls in the future, Nio said.
Data monitored by CnEVPost shows that Nio added two battery swap stations today, the other one located in its global headquarters in Shanghai.
To date, Nio has 72 battery swap stations, 76 supercharging stations, 28 destination charging stations, and access to 35,539 third-party charging piles in Shanghai.
In the past 33 days, Nio has added 100 battery swap stations, with an average of 3 coming online every day, Nio said.
However, this seems to be wrong, as the data monitored by CnEVPost shows that it took 43 days to increase the number of Nio's battery swap stations from 700 to 800.
Reaching 800 battery swap stations is a milestone achievement and a new beginning for Nio on its path forward in 2022, the company said.
Nio will achieve its goal of more than 1,300 battery swap stations this year, bringing a more convenient battery swap experience to more users, it said.
As of January 21, Nio had 800 battery swap stations in China, 208 of which are located along highways.
It also has 637 supercharging stations in China, providing 3,584 charging piles, 645 destination charging stations providing 3,552 charging piles, and access to more than 460,000 third-party charging piles.
