Geely sold record 18,813 NEVs in Dec, up 162.4% year-on-year

For the full year 2021, Geely sold 1,328,029 all vehicles, just 87 percent of its target sales of 1.53 million vehicles.

Geely sold 18,813 new energy vehicles (NEVs) in December, the second consecutive month of record sales, according to figures released today by the Chinese auto giant on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

That's a 162.4 percent year-on-year increase, up 16.4 percent from 16,161 vehicles in November.

Geely's NEVs include pure electric vehicles (EVs), hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), mild hybrid electric vehicles (MHEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), according to the announcement.

The above figures include sales of Geely's premium electric vehicle brand Zeekr, which sold 3,796 units in December, its third delivery month, according to figures released last week.

Zeekr made its first delivery of the Zeekr 001 on October 23, with 199 units delivered in October and 2,012 units in November.

For the full year 2021, Geely's NEV sales of 100,126 units exceeded 100,000, up 37.3 percent from 72,904 units in 2020, data monitored by CnEVPost showed.

Geely's all vehicles sold 158,765 units in December, up about 3 percent year-on-year and up about 17 percent from November.

That includes sales of LYNK & CO, in which the company has a 50 percent stake, which sold 25,846 vehicles in December, up 4 percent from a year earlier.

In 2021, LYNK & CO sold 220,516 units, up 26 percent year-on-year.

Geely sold 141,640 units in China in December, essentially unchanged from the same month of 2020. It exported 17,125 vehicles in December, up 44 percent year-on-year.

For the full year 2021, Geely sold 1,328,029 cars, up about 1 percent from 2020 and just 87 percent of its target sales of 1.53 million units.

In 2022, Geely is targeting sales of 1.65 million units, an increase of about 24 percent over 2021 total sales.
