This is another partnership between Nio and a highway service area operator, as the company is continuing to increase the construction of energy replenishment systems along highways.

On November 23, Nio signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Guangdong Tongyi Expressway Service Co Ltd to build 28 battery swap stations in highway service areas by the end of 2022.

At the end of September, Nio announced that it would complete a battery swap network covering eight major expressways and four densely populated metropolitan areas by the Chinese New Year holiday in 2022, which falls on January 31.

The company aims to increase the number of battery swap stations covering highways to 169 by the Chinese New Year, and Nio figures released today showed that the number of such facilities has already reached 164.

Data monitored by CnEVPost shows that Nio had 719 battery swap stations in China as of December 15, an increase of nine from yesterday.
