Shanghai (ZXZC)-AutoNavi Software Co., Ltd., a leading Chinese web mapping, navigation and location-based service provider affiliated to Alibaba, announced a strategic cooperation with Delphi Automotive, a leading global vehicle technology supplier, saying that they will cooperate on the application and R&D on Internet infotainment system and autonomous driving technology in Chinese market. 

This strategic cooperation is a non-exclusive agreement which covers the application and R&D on big data, navigation and travel service and autonomous driving technology in the Chinese market.

Taking advantage of AutoNavi's platform, Delphi will make further innovation on infotainment system and IT-related new services for the Chinese market in the areas of big data, navigation and travel services. Delphi will also provide route planning service and online POI search service in its infotainment and navigation system on the basis of AutoNavi's real-time transportation information and location-based online map. In addition, Delphi will integrate AutoNavi's online content service into its Internet infotainment system to provide online payment and streaming media services, etc.

AutoNavi will provide high-precision positioning technology for their future autonomous driving project and will also make sure that the high-definition map matched with the positioning technology can be integrated in other Delphi autonomous driving projects.

Wei Dong, President of Automotive Division from AutoNavi said that AutoNavi will dedicate to establishing complete cloud-based mapping services for autonomous driving together with its partners on the basis of AutoNavi's autonomous driving mapping products. He also showed his confidence in their cooperation that the partnership will contribute to accelerate the application of autonomous driving in the Chinese market.
