From January to November, the cumulative installations of LFP batteries was 64.8 GWh, also surpassing the 63.3 GWh of ternary materials for the first time.

Lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery installations in China surpassed those of ternary batteries for the fifth consecutive month, as the lower-cost batteries are used in more vehicles.

Data released today by the China Automotive Battery Innovation Alliance showed that China's LFP battery installed base in November was 11.6 GWh, higher than the 9.2 GWh for ternary batteries.

This is the fifth consecutive month that LFP batteries have maintained their lead after surpassing ternary batteries for the first time in the year in July.

The installed base of LFP batteries increased 145.3 percent year-on-year in November, up 37.2 percent from October. Ternary battery installations rose 57.7 percent year-on-year, up 32.5 percent from October.

From January to November, the cumulative installed base of LFP batteries was 64.8 GWh, also surpassing the 63.3 GWh of ternary materials for the first time.

This gave LFP batteries a 50.5 percent share of the total installations in the first 11 months, higher than the 49.3 percent share of ternary batteries.

In November, China's power battery installed base was 20.8 GWh, up 96.2 percent year-on-year and up 35.1 percent from October.

From January to November, the cumulative installed base of power batteries in China was 128.3 GWh, up 153.1 percent year-on-year.
