Shanghai (ZXZC)-According to China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), the wholesales  of China passenger vehicle automakers reached 2.302 million units in September, with a year-on-year increase of 3.6 percent and a month-on-month increase of 24.3 percent. During the first nine months of this year, the wholesales were up to 167.48 million, growing 3.2 percent compared with the same period of last year. As to the retail sales, September saw a year-on-year growth of 1.2 percent and a month-on-month growth of 17.3 percent to 2.195 million units.

We make three lists to show the overall sales performance of local automakers. Here, we use passenger vehicle wholesales to stand for the total wholesales of locally-produced cars, SUVs and MPVs. The volume doesn’t include the imported vehicles.

SAIC-VW, FAW-VW and SAIC-GM were the top three by wholesale in September as well as in the first nine month of this year. Among the first 15 automakers, only Changan and Changan Ford showed decrease.

Geely was No.1 with total wholesales of 108,980 units in September and the first nine months saw a year-on-year surge of 78.7 percent. Great Wall Motor and Zotye managed to achieve positive growth.

Last month, Changan Ford continued to fall while SAIC-VW achieved the fastest growth among all joint ventures. In the meantime, joint ventures of Korean and French automakers began to show growth trend.
