BAIC BluePark, BAIC's new energy vehicle (NEV) brand, said today that its subsidiary Beijing Electric Vehicle (BJEV) sold 2,484 units in October.
This was up 22 percent from 2,037 units in the same month last year and up 1 percent from 2,450 units in September.
From January to October, BJEV sales were 19,458 units, down about 16 percent from a year ago.
As once the No. 1 local Chinese NEV brand in terms of sales, BAIC Blue Park had a glorious past.
It had been the No. 1 seller of pure EVs in China for seven consecutive years from 2013-2019, with 2017 sales even surpassing Tesla as the global top seller of pure EVs.
However, BAIC BluePark's business situation has continued to deteriorate in recent years. 2019 saw its annual sales of 150,600 units, with sales plummeting to 25,914 units in 2020.
