With the latest addition of a battery swap station, Nio's total number of the facility has reached 600.

The 600th battery swap station, located at a Sinopec gas station in Qingdao, Shandong Province, is the latest to be built by Nio in partnership with the fossil fuel giant.

In the past seven months, Nio has added a total of 400 battery swap stations, twice the total number built in the past three years.

On April 15, Nio signed a strategic partnership agreement with Sinopec, and the EV maker's first second-generation battery swap station, the company's 201st battery swap station, went live at a Sinopec gas station in Beijing.

To date, the two companies have collaborated to build 50 replenishment facilities, including 21 battery swap stations, 19 supercharging stations, and 10 destination charging stations.

As of now, 66.64 percent of Nio's battery swap stations are second-generation facilities with higher service capabilities, while 33.56 percent are first-generation offerings.

As the number of facilities increases, more customers will be able to access battery swap services close to home.

Nio said today that as of today, 40.01 percent of users have at least one battery swap station within 3km.

This is an increase of 4 percentage points from 36.01 percent at the end of September.

At the same time, the ratio of Nio vehicles to battery swap stations fell further to 272 from 312 at the end of September.

Nio's previous goal was to build 500 battery swap stations this year, and at the Nio Power Day event on July 9, the company raised its goal to more than 700.

Nio said at the time that only 29 percent of customers had a battery swap station within a 3-kilometer radius, which was unsatisfactory.

By 2025, Nio hopes to have 90 percent of its customers within a 3-kilometer radius of a battery swap station.

To date, Nio also has 455 supercharging stations, 567 destination charging stations, and access to over 420,000 third-party charging posts.
