Before the 2022 Chinese New Year holiday, Nio plans to add an additional 15 battery swap stations to the line, the company said.

The next Chinese New Year will come on February 1, 2022, and no official holiday schedule has been released, but the typical holiday is seven days.

The holiday is a peak travel period, and Nio hopes to significantly expand its battery swap stations in highway service areas before then to make it easier for its customers to travel by car.

Nio announced last week that it will complete its battery swap network covering eight major highways and four densely populated metropolitan areas by the Chinese New Year in 2022.

William Li, founder, chairman and CEO of Nio, said the company plans to increase the number of battery swap stations along the highway to 169 by the Chinese New Year.

According to Nio's plan, the company hopes to have five battery swap networks along north-south highways and three along east-west highways by then.

CnEVPost's database shows that as of September 26, Nio had 491 battery swap stations in China and 352 supercharging stations providing 2,238 charging piles.

On the morning of September 27, Nio added 3 more battery swap stations, bringing the total to 494.
