FAW may reach cooperative agreement with Changan’s owner

Shanghai (ZXZC)-Recently, Xu Ping, chairman of China South Industries Group, visited FAW with his team and exchanged ideas with Xu Liuping, president of FAW. Both parties thought that they should enhance their cooperation and make full use of each company’s advantages to promote win-win development. China South Industries Group is Changan Auto’s owner, so Zhang Baolin, newly named president of Changan Auto, also visited FAW as the group’s vice general manager. On August 2nd, Xu Ping and Xu Liuping exchanged their jobs.

Xu Ping said that the two state-owned enterprises, FAW and the group, are important forces for China auto industry to become more powerful rather than just being bigger in scale. The two companies should work together and enhance strategic cooperation to promote win-win development. Cooperation cannot only help the companies to cope with the intense competition, but also promote the overall development of China auto industry.

In Xu Ping’s opinion, FAW and Changan Auto have different features and advantages in technology development, manufacturing, management, new energy etc. It is advisable to optimize allocation of resources and create synergy. Xu Ping suggested that the companies should have a deeper cooperation in such areas as future models, new energy vehicle, intelligent-connected vehicle, car sharing service, vehicle car rental service and parts purchasing.

Xu Liuping said FAW has begun its research on the cooperation potential with South Industries Group and plans to visit the group in October. They will have a deep communication and specify the projects. FAW is looking forward to signing cooperation agreement with South Industries Group.
