China's auto industry value-added output growth slows to 7.7% year-on-year in April
The value-added output of China's auto manufacturing rose 7.7 percent year-on-year in April, slowing from 40.4 percent in March, official data showed.
China's National Bureau of Statistics released data on Monday showing that the value-added output of industries above the designated size grew 9.8 percent in April, down from 14.1 percent in March.
China's auto output in April was 2.273 million units, up 6.8 percent from a year earlier, the data showed.
Among them, the output of new energy vehicles was 229,000 units, up 175.9% from a year ago.
From January to April, China's auto production was 8.568 million units, up 53.4 percent from the same period last year, of which 783,000 units were produced by new energy vehicles, up 260.8 percent from the same period last year.
Earlier this month, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) released a report showing that in April, China's auto industry sales were estimated at 2.173 million units, down 13.9 percent from March and up 5 percent from a year earlier.

Passenger vehicle sales in China rose 7.1 percent in April from a year earlier, while commercial vehicle sales fell 0.1 percent from a year earlier, the CAAM report said.
From January to April, cumulative sales in China's auto industry are estimated to have finished at 8.657 million units, up 50.3 percent year-on-year.
