China's power battery production up 948% year-on-year in February
China's power battery production in February was 9.5GWh, up 948.1% year-on-year and down 21.6% from January, data released Thursday showed.
Ternary battery production in February was 5.1 GWh, accounting for 54.2 percent of the total, up 1,006.5 percent year-on-year and down 25.2 percent from January, data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) on Thursday showed.
Lithium iron phosphate battery production in February was 4.3GWh, accounting for 44.3% of the total, up 884.4% year-on-year and down 16.8% from January.
China's power battery production from January to February was 21.5GWh, up 467.3% year-on-year. Among them, ternary battery production was 12.0GWh, up 385.1% year-on-year; lithium iron phosphate production was 9.5GWh, up 624.2% year-on-year.
The power battery installed volume in February was 5.6GWh, up 832.9% year-on-year and down 35.6% from January.
The installed volume of ternary batteries in February was 3.3GWh, up 538.6% year-on-year and down 38.4% from January. Lithium iron phosphate battery installed volume was 2.2GWh, up 2826.0% year-on-year and down 31.2% from January.
China's January-February power battery installation volume was 14.2GWh, up 388.6% year-on-year. Among them, ternary batteries' installed volume was 8.7GWh, up 315.5% year-on-year; lithium iron phosphate batteries installed volume was 5.5GWh, up 586.8% year-on-year.
China had 41 companies with power batteries installed from January to February, down 4 companies year-on-year. The top 3 and top 10 power battery companies installed 10.5GWh and 13.2GWh respectively, accounting for 74.0% and 92.5% of the total installed capacity.
China had 39 companies with installed power cells in February, up 2 from January. The top 3 and top 10 power cell companies installed 4.4GWh and 5.3GWh respectively, accounting for 78.3% and 95.4% of the total installed base.
