Ford to build all-electric SUV Mustang Mach-E in China
Ford China announced plans on January 28 to build the Mustang Mach-E in China, an SUV based on Ford's world's first high-performance all-electric platform that will be built at Changan Ford, its joint venture with Changan Automobile.
Ford Co-Pilot 360 driver assistance system and SYNC + infotainment system will both be available first on the China-made Mustang Mach-E.
It features L2+ self-driving assistance, which allows drivers to drive "quasi-autonomously" on certain highways, a first for Ford China product lineup.
It also features Ford Vehicle-Road Synergy System based on C-V2X technology, which helps drivers predict risks and improve driving safety and efficiency, making Ford the first company in the Chinese market to use C-V2X technology in a production vehicle.
The electric vehicle, which has a range of more than 600 kilometers, also supports FOTA firmware online upgrades and is tuned by the same racing simulator used by Ford global performance vehicle team.
The Mustang Mach-E model measures 4739mm*1881mm*1621mm and has a wheelbase of 2984mm.
Ford has also introduced the GT Performance Edition with front and rear motor layout to China, which accelerates from 0-100 km in 3.5 seconds.
