BYD's NEV sales reach 28,841 units in Dec, up 120 percent year-on-year
BYD sold 28,841 new energy vehicles (NEVs) in December, up 120 percent from 13,099 units in the same month of 2019, the company announced on Tuesday in a filing to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
The company sold 27,594 new energy passenger vehicles in December, including 19,482 pure electric vehicles, and 8,112 plug-in hybrid vehicles.
BYD also sold 1,247 new energy commercial vehicles in December, including 1,004 buses.
BYD's cumulative sales of new energy vehicles for the full year 2020 were 189,700 units, down 17.35 percent year-on-year.
The company sold 179,054 new energy passenger vehicles in 2020, down 18.37 percent year-over-year. Of these, 130,970 were pure electric vehicles, down 11 percent year-on-year.
BYD Auto recently unveiled a new brand logo, turning the previously used red BYD logo into a more metallic silver-gray color.
The BYD logo means "Build Your Dreams", and the new logo forms the word "BYD" in a dynamic "forward" sense.
Since 2020, BYD has launched Han, 2021 Tang, Song PLUS, and Qin PLUS. up to now, its new energy vehicle sales have nearly 1 million volume.
