Nio becomes partner of Chinese version of Academy Awards for second time
For the second time, Chinese EV maker Nio is the new hospitality partner of the Golden Rooster Awards, the Chinese equivalent to the American Academy Awards.
The 33rd Golden Rooster Awards will be held in southeast China's port city of Xiamen from November 25 to November 28, the organizers announced at a press conference in Beijing earlier this month.
On November 21, Nio Vice President of User Operations Wei Jian and Golden Rooster Awards organizers delivered the vehicles at the Nio Service Center.
In 2019, Nio provided the 32nd Golden Rooster Awards organizers with the official new energy vehicle.
The Golden Rooster Awards were established in 1981 - the year of the Rooster.
Award recipients receive a statuette in the shape of a golden rooster and are selected by a jury of filmmakers, film experts, and film historians.
Nio was founded in November 2014 and listed on the New York Stock Exchange on September 12, 2018. Companies that compete with Nio to varying degrees for business in China and around the world include Li Auto, Xpeng, Tesla, and Waymo.
Nio on Wednesday said its third-quarter revenue rose 146.4% year-on-year to RMB 4.53 billion ($66.6 million), beating market expectations of RMB 4.38 billion.
It posted an adjusted loss of RMB 0.82 per ADS for the third quarter, compared to analysts' expectations of a loss of RMB 1.22. Nio's adjusted net loss for the third quarter was RMB 996 million. Nio's gross margin was 12.9% in the third quarter.
