Dongfeng Auto faces frequent senior management team shifts
In the past several months, Dongfeng Auto has made relevant personnel adjustments covering senior managers in joint-venture and self-independent businesses, as well as important leaders in the group. In February, Dongfeng Venucia and Dongfeng Nissan underwent an important personnel change, resulted by the independence of self-independent brand Venucia from Dongfeng Nissan. To support the independent developments of Venucia, Dongfeng Nissan made personnel adjustments among several senior managers.
Dongfeng Auto underwent a major personal adjustment in March, in which FAW veteran An Tiecheng was transferred to Dongfeng Auto and Dongfeng veteran Qiu Xiandong would take office in FAW. Besides, the technological center also faced a major personnel change in March.
Apart from the above two management shifts, DPCA also encountered frequent personnel changes, mainly resulted by the bad sales performances. Statistical data shows that DPCA sells only 600,200 units in 2016, decreasing 14.77% year-to-year and falling out of top 10 lists in terms of passenger vehicles’ sales volume. DPCA’s total sales volume in the previous four months of 2017 reaches 102,500 units, decreasing 48.06% with the same period of last year. The monthly sales volume in April reaches 22,200 units, decreasing 55.1% year-to-year.
It’s known that the management shifts in Dongfeng KIA and DFPV are also resulted by the bad sales performances. For example, the low-end Korean brand KIA faces sales declines of 38.9% and 24% in January and February respectively this year, while its sales decreases 68% in March and April. KIA sells only 16,000 units in March. DFPV has a total sales volume of 48,487 units from January to April, but no detailed information was released on April’s sales data.
