Steel structure of Model Y facility at Tesla's Shanghai Gigafactory nearly complete
In its first-quarter earnings report, electric car maker Tesla revealed that its Shanghai Gigafactory is building its Model Y facility, and the latest aerial video shows that the steel structure of the Model Y facility is almost complete.
According to the aerial video provided by drone enthusiasts, the construction of the steel structure of the Model Y factory in Shanghai Super Factory is almost complete, drone enthusiasts recently operated a drone to film the Shanghai Super Factory Phase II site.
On the construction site of the Model Y plant, there were fireworks and other items to celebrate reaching this milestone. After the steel structure is essentially complete, the construction of the Model Y plant is likely to be even faster.
After the steel structure was completed, the roof and floor were laid, followed by the installation of the walls.
Once the steel structure of the Model Y building is basically complete, it also foreshadows the roof and flooring that will be next and may be completed soon.
However, once the steel structure is complete, the roof floor is laid and the walls are installed, production equipment needs to be installed and the supporting power supply needs to be in place to be able to start production.
However, after the roof and ground are laid, the associated production equipment can come into the plant.
In its first-quarter earnings report, Tesla also revealed that the Model Y, produced at its Shanghai Gigafactory, is scheduled to begin deliveries next year, so the final production of the Model Y line will likely be at the end of the year, as was the case with last year's Model 3.
