Shanghai, April 11st, ZXZC - Volkswagen are planning on a new compact SUV T-ROC that has been caught testing by overseas media.The new vehicle will officially be launched in foreign market ,August and is expected to manufactured by FAW-Volkswagen in the future.

From the spy spots ,we could see the lightly camouflaged SUV nearly set its look employing smaller inlet grille with the headlight and fog lamp still in disguise. The shoulder line is angular and thick C-pillar makes the SUV look sturdy. On the top lies a roof rack ,the wheel brow is blue, the overall design highlights the SUV characteristics. The compact SUV gets a fastback style,though we cannot see the tail light design, it’s believed to familiar to that of the all new Tiguan.

Underpinning the T-Roc is the same MQB platform that used on other Volkswagen models. Powering the car is the familiar 2.0 litre three or four cylinder diesel with the FWD and AWD optional.The new vehicle will be introduced to domestic market after its launch overseas and be assembled by FAW-Volkswagen.

The plan on the long-waited compact SUV could trace back to the time when Volkswagen and  cooperate with Suzuki on the Taigun concept car.Only after the two company stopped the collaboration did Volkswagen begin to develop compact SUV on the MQB platform.However, it makes Volkswagen’s compact SUV a late-comer to the market considering the other brands including the Toyota,Ford even Opel have already set their foot in the segment.

It has been confirmed that the new vehicle will be handed over to FAW-Volkswagen,declaring end of the FAW-Volkswagen’s “Zero SUV” age.The compact SUV is to heat up the domestic market with its young and fashion look.
