Chery plans for 4 major product platforms, launching new models
In 2016, Chery Group has total sales of 704,700 units with a year-to-year growth of 27%, exceeding the annual target of 600,000 units. Official news come out that Chery Auto has planned for four major product platforms, developing new power plants at the same time. It’s also learned that Chery Auto will launch many new quality models based on the 4 major product platforms.
Bai Leimeng, person in charge of Chery Shanghai R&D Center, released Chery’s future development plan. Currently, Chery has planned four major product platforms, including M1X, A3X, T1X and M3X. Besides, Chery also plans for the NEV platform, focusing on alternative energy vehicles and leveling on the 4 major product platforms.
Chery Auto also develops many new power plants, including the 1.0TCI, 1.0TGDI, 1.2TGDI and 1.6TGDI small-displacement turbo-charged engines. It also plans for the 1.5T PHEV system and 48V hybrid system. Besides, the new power plants are expected to be equipped in Chery models from the year 2019.
Chery Auto will also focus on five new models, positioned at the new A-class SUV. Chery eQ1 will also be launched on March, 25th, while Arrizo5 EV will also be launched at the latter half of year. Besides, the Arrizo 5 Sport Version model equipping with 1.5T engine will also be launched on March, 18th. Tiggo 7 will also launch the Sport Version model equipping with dual-clutch gearbox in April.
