FAW Jilin plans to launch multiple SUV models; Xenta R7 will increase 1.5T model

Shanghai March 9th, 2017 ZXZC -As FAW Group’s wholly owned subsidiary, FAW Jilin has main products of “Jiabao” micro-cars, “Xenta” SUV/MPVs. Xenta R7, positioned as a small-size SUV model and launched at the end of April of last year, reaches monthly sales volume of 8,000 units by the support of its 1.6L-engine model.

According to plan, FAW Jilin will continue to expand its Xenta products, mainly in SUV, MPV and alternative energy vehicles. Insiders reveal that Xenta R7 is expected to launch facelift models in September to further increase its products’ competitive power. The new model will equip with 1.5T engines. According to official introduction, Xenta brand targets to become an excellent self-independent brand, by adjusting product structure and enriching products to cover SUV market and micro-bus market.

Xenta brand will launch at least one model per year during the “13th-five” period. This year, the R7 1.5T model is expected to be launched in September or October, equipping with intelligent vehicle interconnection and mobile remote control functions.

FAW Jilin will also develop alternative energy models, and Xenta R7 BEV model is also expected to make debut in 2017. FAW Jilin will also launch the new 7-seat SUV and new compact SUV by 2018. Besides, FAW Jilin will also launch a 7-seat MPV model based on Xenta R7, providing strong support for the Xenta family and thus meeting demands for different customers.

FAW Jilin also accelerates the sales channel distribution layouts. The “one thousand sales networks” plan, meaning to construct sales networks in 320 B-level cities, 400 key commercial circles and 580 county-level cities, is also implemented step by step. Till the end of October, 2016, FAW Jilin has 400 primary service stores and 530 secondary service stores across the nation, covering most domestic cities.
