Geely Engine Project of 5 Billion Yuan Locate in Guiyang

On February 21st, Geely’s Engine Project laid a foundation in Guiyang, which is  located in Baiyun aluminum and aluminum processing zone with a total investment of about 5 billion Yuan. The project will be put into operation in June 2019.         

The engine has been described as the "heart" of car, is the source of power. From buying the engine in joint venture early to independently complete the research and development and production of engine, Geely Automobile has constructed the engine research and development system. The engine project located in Baiyun District of Guiyang City is developed by Geely Group and Volvo jointly, aims to product the new 1.5TD engine with the world competitiveness. The production line includes machining, assembly, hot running, etc. and be equipped with management center and testing technology center and other auxiliary facilities. Since the start of project construction, the product will be achieved referrals within 30 months. Annual output would be 400 thousand sets after design capacity and the value is expected to exceed 5.4 billion Yuan, directly providing 1200 new jobs.

This is the second major project after the vehicle project which Geely group arrange in Guizhou. "Power train is the core technology of automobile manufacturers, the two project is a matching relationship, that is to say, Guiyang will form one package service of automobile industry. " Vice President of Geely Holding Group Wang Ruiping said. 

The project can drive the industries of vertical linkages, open a new era for the development of Guizhou automobile industry and fill gaps in the high-end equipment manufacturing industry in Guizhou. It also has a positive and far-reaching impact on accelerating the agglomeration of the automobile industry, promoting the development of the equipment manufacturing industry, improving industrial level and the core competitiveness of the city.
