FAW-Volkswagen puts latest models on show
FAW-Volkswagen is showcasing a wide range of models that target different customer groups at the Shanghai auto show, as a sign of the Sino-German joint venture's confidence in the Chinese market.
"We hope to improve our market share because we have new models, expanded our network and have been working very hard," said Martin Jahn, executive vice-president of FAW-Volkswagen Sales Co.
"Our target is to do better than the overall market," he said.
The biggest highlight at its booth is the long-wheelbase Sagitar sedan. Based on the new MQB platform, the model boasts innovative features in design, comfort, safety and space.
Driving assist technologies such as front collision warning and automatic parking ensure a safer, smoother and more pleasant driving experience.
The company also presents electric vehicles -- the e-Golf and the e-Bora, which will serve as pacesetters in FAW-Volkswagen's Strategy 2025, which focuses on new mobility trends including electrification and connectivity.
Jahn said the two electric vehicles will bring customers fresh experiences such as reliable safety and superior driving, and more models will follow soon.
He said the company's sales of new energy vehicles will total 100,000 in 2020, a quarter of Volkswagen AG's estimated sales of such vehicles in the country.
FAW-Volkswagen will continue its SUV offensive this year to seize a larger share in the popular segment, Jahn said.
